The Immanent, Present One

You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know all about me.
Psalms 139:1

"...I will be with you always, even until the end of the world."
Matthew 28:20

Immanent One,
you're here, right now and in this place.
Always.  Thank You.  Amen.

The Wholly Other

Our holy God lives forever in the highest heavens, and this is what he says: Though I live high above the holy place, I am here to help those who are humble and depend only on me.  Isaiah 57:15
Wholly Other God, as soon as I begin to sense that I've figured you out, you show me how little I really know about you.  Thank you, God, that there is always more of you than I can understand, and thanks also for enabling me to understand as much as I do.  Amen.

The All-Seeing One

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.  Psalms 32:8

All seeing God, forgive me for rushing into action; forgive me for being so presumptuous to think I must always be poised to act; forgive me for not allowing you to show me what I need to know in a situation. Teach me always to ask you to let me see what I need to see.  Amen

The Eternal One

For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who established it, who did not create it in vain, who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the Lord, and there is no other... I, the Lord, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right."
Isaiah45:18,19

Eternal and Everlasting God, I don't understand such terms as eternal and everlasting. How can I? My world is limited and temporal.  Whether I understand isn't the issue, is it? Help me commit my will totally to you, especially when I don't understand what you're doing with my life or the lives of others around me. Amen

The Exclusive God

We belong to God.  No matter how terrible our situations seem, this assures us we're in a special relationship with God who is, who was, and who ever shall be.

Be true to your name, Lord, by forgiving each one of my tereible sins... You will show the right path to all who worship you.  Our Lord, you are the friend of your worshipers, and you make an agreement with all of us.
Psalms 25:11-12,14

Exclusive God,
thanks for making me part of your covanant people, for allowing  me to be part of your exclusive community
a people you love and care for always. Amen.
